‘Alpine’ Blotched Blue Tongue Lizard

Distribution: ‘Alpine’ Blotched Blue Tongue Lizards inhabit small highland pockets of South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.

Appearance: ’Alpine’ Blotched Blue Tongue Lizards have Bright to dark blue tongues, and they have a habit of displaying it prominently and hissing loudly when disturbed, they also have reddish - orange heads and reddish - orange coloured blotches over their bodies.

Temperament: ‘Alpine’ Blotched Blue Tongue Lizards are pretty docile and gentle animals, which can be easily held by even the most inexperienced keeper.

Feeding: Adult Blue Tongue Lizards should be offered food 2-3 times per week, Juvenile – Sub Adult Blue Tongue Lizards should be offered food every 1 - 2 days and Baby Blue Tongue Lizards should be offered food daily. Lifespan: Blue Tongue Lizards can live from 10 – 20 Years with a few living longer.
